SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – General Rentals, of Evansville, Ind., has taken possession of a new Terex R190T compact track loader with a one-of-a-kind pin striping and custom paint job from Joey Hutson Artistry of West Monroe, La. Steven and Pete Powell, owners of General Rentals, an American Rental Association member, purchased the R190T loader. Artists Joey and Robin Hutson gave this unit its unique paint scheme at the Terex booth during The Rental Show 2015, held in New Orleans, La., February 23-25.
“We specialize in renting smaller, compact equipment that can be towed behind a pick-up truck without special permits or trailers,” says Steven Powell. “We have been long-time customers of Terex, first owning an ASV compact track loader many years ago to today, owning a PT-50 compact track loader and now adding this new R190T compact track loader to our fleet. Our customers, who are site developers, homebuilders and landscapers, appreciate Terex rubber-tracked compact track loaders' high flotation and quick cycle times to get in and out of jobsites that rubber-tired units just can't tackle.”
The 60-hp Terex R190T radial lift path compact track loader offers operators 140 ft-lb of peak torque, a tipping load of 3,800 lb – with a 1,900 lb at 35 percent of tipping load capacity – and a lift height of 115 in for powerful production in digging and grading applications. The radial lift path configuration on the R190T loader excels in ground engaging tasks because of weight distribution between the tracks. The weight distribution on a radial lift path is almost an even split between the two tracks, improving tractive effort and giving the unit better cutting edge pressure. Because of this set-up, radial lift path units like the R190T will excel at spreading rock, grading, and site prep. Radial models also offer more reach at flatbed height to unload pallets.
The R190T compact track loader is equipped with the Posi-Track suspended undercarriage technology that maximizes traction and flotation while giving operators the most comfortable ride possible. As a result of this technology, the machine's 6,350-lb operating weight is distributed down to only 3.6 psi of ground pressure. This set-up gives the R190T loader more traction, higher flotation and better operating comfort so operators can make full use of the machine's higher travel speeds, up to 11 mph with its optional 2-speed transmission. Smooth Turf Tracks or Extreme Terrain Tracks with aggressive treads are also available for this model. This unit is a good rental machine thanks to its pilot-operated joystick controls for easy operation and a load-sensing hydraulic system that helps prevent engine stalls.
According to General Rentals, the Terex R190T compact track loader is available for rent with a standard bucket, forks or a Harley power box rake attachment. Since taking delivery of the R190T loader, the company has already had a lot of interest in it and has rented it out a couple of times. “The distinctive paint scheme on this unit really catches our customers' attention,” says Steven Powell. “This loader is going to be a very popular rental unit in our fleet.”
