LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. – Billy Goat Industries is taking to the streets with its reciprocating aerator lineup. On the heels of the recent PLUGR acquisition and launch of the One & Done Hydro Aerator, the company is offering demos to give contractors and landscapers an opportunity to experience the benefits of reciprocating technology.
Reciprocating aerators have advantages over traditional drum aerators that allow for features such as in-ground turning that reduces operator fatigue, fewer tines for easy service, variable aeration density that produces two to 10 times more holes per pass – ideal for patch and repair work – and deeper plugs regardless of soil conditions.
The cam-driven reciprocating PLUGR commercial models include the PL2500H 25 inch mechanical drive, best suited for larger property aerations with flatter landscapes and delivers up to 42,550 sq ft/hour, while the PL2500SPH 25 inch hydro drive self-propelled model is perfect for large hilly property and delivers up to 35,000 sq ft/hour. Both models have variable speed, allowing for a denser hole pattern at slower speed where needed.
Billy Goat's One & Done 30 inch hydrostatic reciprocating aerator offers speed up to 4.3 mph, and completes quarter acre aerations in as little as 15 minutes – 59 percent faster than 26 inch drum units. The unit's Variable Aeration Density (VAD) creates two to 10 times more holes than drum models in a single pass, offering the ability to do patch repair and seed bed prep in just one pass. FLEXTECH arms provide flexible limb reciprocating action, driving plug depths up to two times that of drums, even in dry soil. The machine has in-ground steering and hydro drive controls allow feathering the speed in both forward and reverse affording maximized productivity and minimized operator fatigue.
