NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – To celebrate Arbor Day, Almstead Tree & Shrub Care Co. will once again sponsor the Junior Arborist Station at Wave Hill, a 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx. The event will take place on April 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Wave Hill grounds.
Kids ages seven and older will be able to don tree-climbing harnesses and hardhats and climb on to the canopy of a large, old sugar maple tree, under the watchful eyes of experienced Almstead climbers, to get a birds-eye view of the Wave Hill grounds. Arborists from Almstead will also be on hand to answer any tree-related questions from young, budding arborists.
“The Junior Arborist Station is a lot of fun for us to do because we get to meet the future arborists and environmentalists from our community,” said Ken Almstead, CEO. “We are also very pleased to continue with our support of Wave Hill. Their mission is an important one that aligns perfectly with what we do as a company.”
Arborists from Almstead's four offices will participate in several Arbor Day celebrations throughout the region during the months of April and May. Please visit www.almstead.com/arborday for more information.
