For families of deployed military personnel and wounded or disabled veterans, handling basic yard maintenance tasks can be a real challenge. To meet that challenge, Project EverGreen established the GreenCare for Troops program to provide complimentary lawn and landscape care services to these deserving individuals.
As the program enters its ninth year, Project EverGreen is celebrating the first-ever National GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week. If you are already a volunteer, Project EverGreen thanks you. If you have not registered, please consider doing so. To access the GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week Tool Kit, please sign in here.
GreenCare for Troops, with support from The Toro Company, is a nationwide outreach program coordinated by Project EverGreen that connects local green industry professionals with men and women serving our country in the armed forces away from home. GreenCare is in the process of helping hundreds of volunteers provide free lawn and landscape services for thousands of military families nationwide.
With the start of its ninth season, Project EverGreen has announced that GreenCare for Troops will now offer services to wounded and disabled veterans, in addition to families of currently deployed military personnel. For eligible wounded or disabled veterans, services will be provided for a 9-12 month period once the match is made. Active-duty military members are eligible during deployments.
