On March 12, Beth Black, a student from Brigham Young University was awarded the Martin Family Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Beth has previously worked on the grounds of BYU and is currently researching control for invasive seeds and nitrogen nutrition as it pertains to golf greens. Beth has already received 2 research grants while studying at BYU.
Beth is planning on furthering her studies to include researching integrated pest management and plant pathology. She hopes one day to work as a professor to encourage more students to look into the “green industry.” It’s clear that Beth Black has a passion for our environment.
